Sukh Sandhu was born and raised in a modest family in Fatehabad Distt, Haryana, India. From an early age, he displayed a strong determination and a passion for learning, which would later shape his career as an educator, entrepreneur, and leader in various fields. His father, Sardar Gurnam Singh Sandhu, was a businessman of a successful organisation Sandhu Soap Factory, and his mother, Sardarni Rashpal Kaur Sandhu (Pala), was a head of nurses. As the eldest of two siblings, Sukh learned the value of responsibility and leadership from a young age. Growing up in a close-knit community, Sukh was instilled with the values of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of helping others, which would guide him throughout his life and career.

In his formative years, Sukh attended a local school where he excelled academically and developed a keen interest in technology, business, and education. As a child, he was known for his curiosity and eagerness to learn, often asking questions and seeking knowledge from his teachers and elders. This insatiable thirst for knowledge and understanding would later become the driving force behind his decision to pursue higher education and become an educator himself.

Upon completing his graduation, Sukh moved to Australia to further his studies. He earned a Masters of Information Technology degree from Federation University (University of Ballarat) in Melbourne, Australia. This program equipped him with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the rapidly growing field of information technology. He also gained exposure to various aspects of computer science, such as software development, networking, and data management.

Driven by his passion for learning and education, Sukh continued his academic journey by pursuing a Master of Education degree in Information Systems. This program allowed him to develop expertise in educational technologies, instructional design, and e-learning. It also provided him with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of education and the role technology plays in shaping modern learning experiences.

Sukh’s dedication to lifelong learning did not stop with his formal education. Throughout his career, he has consistently engaged in professional development activities, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay current in his field. Sukh is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD), an esteemed recognition awarded to professionals who have demonstrated significant contributions to the learning and development field. This distinction further solidified Sukh’s commitment to education and his desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Sukh has always been passionate about languages and the arts. He is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and Punjabi, which has allowed him to engage with diverse communities and bridge cultural gaps. Furthermore, Sukh is an accomplished poet and writer, having penned over 18,500 poems and 300 stories throughout his life. His love for the written word has enabled him to connect with people on a deeply emotional level, providing solace, inspiration, and encouragement to others.
While pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and Masters of Computer Science at Kurukshetra University, Sukh consistently ranked first throughout his academic career. He later continued his education, obtaining another Masters of Information Technology at MIT.

Aside from his academic pursuits, Sukh was deeply involved in various cultural activities and functions at the district and state levels, winning numerous prizes and accolades. From 1988 to 2000, spanning 12 years, he was an active participant in cultural and social activities that allowed him to express his artistic talents and passion for performing arts.

One of Sukh’s most notable achievements during this period was his involvement in stage performances. He took his passion for acting to a professional level, participating in several dramas, including “Bhakt Prahlad,” “Raja Harishchandera,” “Kutumb,” and “Ayodhya.” His love for acting also extended to “Ramleela,” a traditional theatrical enactment of the life and exploits of Lord Rama, an incarnation of God in human form. Sukh was a regular participant in “Ramleela” for 12 years, from 1988 to 2000.

Sukh Sandhu’s early years demonstrate his unwavering passion for media, acting, art, and cultural activities. These experiences not only helped him develop essential skills for his later professional endeavors but also allowed him to express his creativity and connect with the community. His love for the arts and media would later play a crucial role in his career, as he went on to become an accomplished entrepreneur, social media expert, and editor in the media industry.

EARLY CAREER

 

In the early stages of his career, Sukh Sandhu began by completing his Diploma of Advanced Studies (Information Technology) and was assigned to the Solan Centre of the organization for practical placements. Initially starting as a junior web designer and developer, Sukh’s talent and hard work did not go unnoticed. Within just two months, he was promoted to the role of Web/Online Analyst – Web Designer/Developer, and subsequently appointed as Manager (Marketing and Training).
During this time, Sukh also served as an educator, teaching a wide range of subjects such as Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS), Business & Management, Information & Communication, Project Management, Training & Assessment, and Multimedia & Web Designing. He held teaching positions at several reputed organizations, including Heights, ZED (A Zee Tv Education Centre), NIIT, Aptech, MIT, TMG, and ICTM.

Sukh’s passion for communication and media led him to work as an editor for various weekly and monthly magazines between 1998 and 2008. Some of these publications include “Hum Hindi,” “Stylo Aunty – Gossips Unlimited,” and “Bandhan.” His experience in the media industry honed his skills in content creation, communication, and management.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Sukh has always been committed to giving back to society. He has actively participated in and contributed to several not-for-profit organizations, taking on various roles and responsibilities. Some of the organizations he has worked with include Bharat Vikas Parishad, Junior Chamber International, Melba Support Services, No Smoking Club International, “Adara” Rooh, Save The Children Foundation, The Child Abuse Prevention Society, Help A Poor Child (HAPC), and The Alliance for Safe Children (TASC).

FIRST PAID JOB AND EXPERIENCE

 

Sukh Sandhu’s journey into the working world began at a young age, with his first paid job experience taking place when he was just eight years old. At the time, he was paid 20 Rupees for a dance show performance on stage during a cultural event. This early experience sparked his interest in media, acting, art, and cultural activities, paving the way for his later accomplishments.

One of Sukh’s most memorable job experiences was at Webcom Technologies USA, Solan Center, where he worked as a tutor. His dedication and hard work quickly led to his promotion to Senior Multimedia & Web Analyst, Web-Designer, and Developer. Eventually, he was appointed as Manager, a position he held with great pride.

Throughout his career, Sukh had the opportunity to work with many managers from various positions and organizations. However, he remains especially grateful to Mr. Vikas Dhingra, an engineer who provided him with his first significant platform. Sukh is also thankful to Sushma Gurung, Manager of Enrollments at MIT, and Anna Haranas, Manager of Vocational Education Training, Grandfathering, and Professional Development Courses at Gowrie Victoria.

In addition to his professional roles, Sukh devoted his time and energy to numerous not-for-profit organizations. He served as Fundraising & Events Coordinator for Junior Chamber International, where he supported children and young people. In this role, Sukh was responsible for fostering relationships and networks between volunteers and host communities. He utilized the “ripple effect” to encourage and support volunteers in sharing their experiences with the broader community. This involvement in various organizations allowed Sukh to make a lasting impact and showcased his dedication to giving back to society.
